Overview
LovyDays is a relationship companion app that helps couples keep track of shared days, memories, streaks, reminders, widgets, quick touch interactions, Couple Challenge questions, and a virtual "Journey to You" between the two partners' shared locations. This Privacy Policy explains what information LovyDays accesses, collects, uses, stores, and shares. There is no account or sign-up; the app never asks for your email, phone number, or a password.
Information We Collect or Store
LovyDays may collect or store the following information when you use the app:
- Anonymous Firebase Authentication identifiers used to connect two devices as a couple.
- Couple pairing data, including couple IDs, member IDs, pairing tokens, token status, timestamps, and relationship start dates.
- Couple profile data synced between the two paired devices: the display names you both chose and, if you set one, a small copy of your avatar image.
- Streak and activity data, including daily activity status, quick touch events, touch types, timestamps, and receipt status.
- Couple Challenge data: the questions you chose and the answers both partners entered.
- Location data for Journey to You (optional): when you tap "Share my location", the app reads your device location once, at that moment, and stores that position (latitude, longitude, accuracy, and time) in your couple room so your partner can see how far apart you are. Location is not read in the background. While a virtual Journey runs, a journey record holding the two shared positions, the chosen ride, and its progress is stored in the couple room.
- A device record for notifications: a push token with the platform, app version, language, time zone, and your notification preferences, keyed to your anonymous identifier.
- Local memory information, such as memory titles, descriptions, dates, and media attachment references stored on your device.
- App analytics events that help us understand feature usage and improve the app. Journey distances are reported only as broad bands, never as coordinates.
- Crash reports and diagnostics that help us detect and fix app stability issues.
The Couple Cat animation on the Home screen is purely visual and stores nothing about you.
Location, Camera, Photos, and Notifications
LovyDays may request approximate or precise location permission, used only in the foreground and only when you tap "Share my location" for Journey to You. The app does not request background location and does not track your movement; a Journey is an animation on a map, not real travel. The app works without this permission.
LovyDays may request camera access to scan QR codes for couple pairing. Camera data is used for that feature and is not used for advertising. If you add memory media or avatars, the app may access files that you select so the app can display or save them locally. The "Share this moment" card at the end of a Journey is created on your device and saved to your gallery only when you choose to save it. LovyDays may request notification permission to send relationship reminders, streak reminders, quick touch notifications, "your Journey is ready" notices, and a reminder your partner can send you to share your location.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide app features such as couple pairing, streaks, quick touches, Couple Challenge, Journey to You, widgets, reminders, and memories.
- Sync selected couple-related data between paired devices.
- Draw the Journey route: for road rides we send the two shared positions, reduced to roughly 100 m precision, to the Google Routes API to obtain a road path. The result is cached for up to 30 days with no link to who requested it. Flying rides use a straight line and make no routing request.
- Maintain app security, prevent invalid pairing, and keep relationship data scoped to paired devices.
- Analyze app usage and improve performance, reliability, and user experience.
- Investigate crashes, errors, and technical problems.
Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information and we do not show third-party advertising. Couple-related data, including shared locations, may be shared only between the two paired devices that belong to the same couple. We use Firebase services provided by Google, including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics, to provide authentication, cloud sync, notifications, analytics, and crash reporting. We use Google Maps Platform (Maps SDK for Android and the Routes API) to display the Journey map and compute road routes. These providers process data according to their own terms and privacy policies; see policies.google.com/privacy.
Data Security
We use Firebase and Android platform security features to help protect data in transit and at rest. Firestore data is transmitted over encrypted connections and protected by security rules so that only the two paired devices in a couple room can read it; Journey records are written only by our server code. Local app data is stored in the app's private storage where supported by the Android operating system. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention and Deletion
Local data remains on your device until you delete it in the app, clear app data, or uninstall the app. Your shared location remains in the couple room until you tap "Stop sharing" on the Home card or leave the couple room; either action removes it. A finished Journey record is deleted automatically about 24 hours after it completes. Pairing invitations expire after 72 hours and are purged automatically. Cloud data used for pairing, profiles, streaks, quick touches, and Couple Challenge remains in Firebase, so that your couple room can be restored if you reinstall the app, unless it is deleted as part of a data deletion request. From Edit Profile you can disconnect from your partner at any time.
To request deletion of cloud data associated with your LovyDays use, contact us at ltdat.oplai@gmail.com. We may need information that helps us identify the relevant couple or device record, such as the relationship start date, before deletion can be completed.
Children's Privacy
LovyDays is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, contact us so we can review and delete the relevant data where appropriate.
International Users
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your country of residence, including locations where Firebase and Google service providers operate.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date above. This version reflects LovyDays 1.6.0, which introduced Journey to You and Couple Cat. Your continued use of LovyDays after an updated Privacy Policy is posted means you accept the updated policy.
